Prior to delivery, groundworks will need to have been completed at least a week before assembly to allow the mortar to cure. Labour will be required on site to unload the delivery vehicle - depending on the size of the building, the vehicle may be as small as a van and trailer or as big as a 10 tonne wagon.
Timber Delivery Joinery Delivery Timber Delivery
Storage The timbers will need to be placed on timber bearers NOT directly on the ground where they will pick up moisture and dirt. Ideally a tarpaulin should be laid first for extra protection and over the top if the timber is to be left for any length of time to keep it protected from the weather. All joinery should be kept laid flat until ready to use.
Delivery items The delivery will include the main oak frame and MAY include any joinery. Sometimes the joinery will arrive later to allow time for the frame assembly or due to the access or room on the delivery vehicle. The frame and joinery will arrive bound together so you will need a good quality knife to cut the straps and protective coverings.

You will need
Required Timber for bearers and support DPC Mastic Gun Good knife Staple Remover Screwdriver Pliers Nails and Screws
Machined and ready to fit Oak placed on bearers Applying the mastic
The staples attaching the labels to the timber are most easily removed with staple remover and pliers
Useful Extras Whilst some people are happy to work from ladders and tressels, we recommend hiring a beam lifter to make easy work of lifting the eaves beams and tie beams up to eaves height. A good quality spirit level will make it easier to make sure the frame is square along with rachet straps to pull the frame square. A mini scaffold tower will also make it much easier and safer to work. A nailgun is very handy for fixing weatherboard
